Uniglobe Travel International is the world's largest single brand travel franchise organization with more than 750 locations in over 33 countries across North and South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. Operating under a well-recognized brand name, UNIGLOBE travel agencies specialize in providing travel services to small-to-medium sized corporate accounts and to leisure travelers.
The ProjectUniglobe Travel International requested customized website development projects for each of its individual branches, concentrating on a consistent look across all websites, the ability for each franchise to customize the content of own website, and branch-exclusive incentives such as free content or gadgets in order to attract customers to the websites.
A CitySoft SolutionProblem: UNIGLOBE and all Uniglobe Travel International franchises did not have a unified Internet website network in order for potential customers and existing customers to be able to get information online. Each franchise was responsible for their own website work, if they chose to have it. Countless labor hours were spent on customer service, using methods of email and phone in order to explain the same information over and over again to new and existing customers.
Solution: CitySoft Solutions had built a network of websites, allowing enough consistency in the websites to create a feeling of a unified large-scale company for the customers, but with enough individuality to allow each franchise to take control of their website and customize the content and details to their own specific needs.
Result: The number of sales increased significantly due to the fact that Uniglobe franchises could now be found via Internet. New customers and existing customers were able to find all general information on the websites, decreasing customer service labor hours by 400%.
Problem: In 1999, the concept of Content Management Software (CMS) was relatively new. Franchise owners of Uniglobe Travel International were forced to update content manually, spending countless labor hours copying, pasting, checking and re-checking for errors. The rate of errors was and the labor hours spent on simple maintenance was high.
Solution: Using Java for programming and Oracle for a database, these being the only tools on the market at the time available to fulfill all needs, CitySoft Solutions customized and implemented CMS to support all UNIGLOBE websites, individually.
Result: The margin rate of error had drastically dropped, and labor hours for website maintenance and content update went down 300%.
